John R Childress CNBC Interview

Few concepts in business contain so many powerful truths, and at the same time so much crap, as corporate culture.

Corporate culture is one of the most talked about and yet least understood concepts in business today. At a recent US Congressional hearing on banking reform attended by former Barclays CEO Bob Diamond, the term “corporate culture” was mentioned 50 times. While corporate culture may not show up on the Balance Sheet as a line item, in many companies culture is a Liability and not an Asset. And most CEOs don’t know what their culture really is!

JRC with Leverage booksSenior executive advisor John R. Childress has more than 35 years experience working with senior executive teams and global organizations on the role of culture, performance and strategy execution.

In LEVERAGE Childress separates the fundamental principles from the pontifications to provide the CEO and senior executive with an informed understanding as to what corporate culture is all about, and the tools to manage and leverage corporate culture to the advantage of your customers, employees, communities and shareholders.

LEVERAGE brings to life the important elements of corporate culture including the role of leadership, approaches to culture change, culture myths, culture surveys and assessments and the role of culture in strategy execution and mergers & acquisitions.

LEVERAGE is a perfect book for your entire senior team!

“You need to read this book before your CEO does.” – Frank Tempesta, former CEO, Textron Systems

This is the book every CEO has been waiting for! An insightful synthesis into the important topic of corporate culture, why it matters and how to separate the valuable from the B.S.
 – Michael J. McNally, Aivia Corporation.

LEVERAGE: The CEO’s Guide to Corporate Culture is available in paperback at Amazon, Barnes & Nobles, Baker & Taylor and Blackwell.
